Our Insolvency & Restructuring team is now looking to recruit a Solicitor, Associate, or Senior Associate to support the continued growth of the practice. We are open on the PQE level, ideally and welcome applications from:
· Experienced insolvency and restructuring solicitors
· Corporate lawyers interested in developing a restructuring practice
· Commercial litigators who want to retrain into contentious insolvency

About Our Insolvency & Restructuring Team
Our team works collaboratively to deliver commercial, pragmatic solutions across the full spectrum of pre‑insolvency, insolvency, and insolvency litigation matters. We provide tailored advice that addresses all legal elements of financial distress, helping clients achieve the best possible outcome.
The team includes dual‑qualified legal and insolvency practitioners with Higher Rights of Audience, enabling us to advise on technical insolvency issues, handle non‑contentious matters such as business sales, and conduct hearings in the Higher Courts.
The Work You’ll Be Involved In
Pre‑Insolvency Advisory
· Advising financially distressed businesses and individuals on restructuring and reorganisation options
· Guiding directors on duties, risks and potential personal liabilities
· Supporting debt recovery strategies and negotiations with creditors
· Advising stakeholders on the implications and effects of insolvency
· Helping clients identify the most commercially viable route forward
Insolvency (Non‑Contentious)
Working closely with our corporate, commercial property and employment teams, you will advise insolvency practitioners and stakeholders on:
· Disposals of assets by insolvent companies, including pre‑packaged sales
· Acquisitions of assets from insolvent companies
· Disposals of distressed properties
· Drafting documentation relating to insolvency appointments and processes
· Advising insolvency practitioners on conduct, compliance and procedural issues
· Employment issues arising in insolvency, including TUPE and redundancy
· Contract reviews and risk assessment
· Protecting assets where a family member is insolvent
Insolvency Litigation
You will also work on a wide range of contentious matters, including:
· Claims against directors for antecedent transactions (preferences, transactions at undervalue, misfeasance, wrongful or fraudulent trading)
· Advising directors facing claims or disqualification proceedings
· Asset recovery, including freezing and seizure orders
· Book debt recovery
· Advising landlords where tenants become insolvent
· Retention of title claims and enforcement of security
· Restoring companies to the register to realise assets
· Statutory demands and set‑aside applications
· Presenting and defending winding‑up and bankruptcy petitions
Typical Responsibilities
· Client liaison and providing clear, commercially focused advice
· Managing your own caseload in line with compliance and procedural requirements
· Drafting correspondence, reports, statutory notices and court documents
· Supporting senior fee earners on complex restructuring and insolvency matters
· Liaising with insolvency practitioners, accountants, creditors and opposing solicitors
· Attending court, mediations and client meetings
· Working collaboratively across the wider Corporate & Commercial team
· Contributing to business development and internal referrals
Skills & Experience
Essential:
· Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
· Experience in commercial litigation, corporate law, or insolvency
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to manage cases effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
· Commercial awareness and a client‑focused approach
· Adaptable, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment
Desirable:
· Experience in insolvency disputes, restructuring transactions or financial distress advisory
· Exposure to ADR
· Involvement in business development or marketing activity
